This poster is inspired by a Josef Müller Brockmann album cover .
The text reads:

Imitation is always the first step to innovation.
Every pronounced individuality must imitate other individualities; the very permanence of the earth, of human conditions of language, and evolution render this a necessity. But with truly original mind there is a margin of difference, as we have already remarked, and it is this which causes the new standards to be set up and the new values to be created.

This is the first of a series of posters I am producing to support my research into originality for the Post Graduate Diploma phase of my MA. It is a pastiche of the Milton Glacer’s Dylan poster and plays on the concepts or originality and evolution.
